Maus is a great one for her age. It's a graphic novel, so it should be a quick read for her. There is a sequel as well.

A Wrinke in Time by Madeline L’Engel and Matilda by Roald Dahl are the first two that came to mind. I would also mention Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson as I read it around that age but would look up the content and topic to see if it’s something you feel right to suggest to her!
