I will say this, I will support you and your writing no matter what. If you think you can change the story a little bit without sacrificing what you want the story to convey, then go for it. But if your heart and the soul is set on the other possibilities, then don't.

I don't want your heart to hurt because this magnificent story you poured your soul into didn't do well. We do take things personally sometimes. And that's ok! You can always make an alternate ending and see which you like better? But I don't want you to hurt or lose your love for writing over it

That’s a tricky question. I‘d like to believe that I don’t mainly write for an audience BUT I‘m still very sad that my secret santa fic (which is my longest fic to date) barely found any readers. Yet, I think that wouldn’t keep me from writing a wip I‘m truly excited about.

That's exactly what I was trying to say. It's easy to believe you don't write for an audience until a fic you poured your soul into flops. By the way, the same happened with my Secret Santa fic - the ones who read it loved it but few people read it.

No, I don't write for readers. Actually, whenever I write a story like that, I find that I don't get as much exposure as my other stories, so I shape it however I want. Those who don't read it won't read it, they miss out :)
