In reality, we are experiencing exactly the same process that France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, etc. experienced with their Nazi takovers. Your poster is so true.
It's sobering to know that the U.S. let a lot of Nazis into the country, and even when made aware of their presence, did nothing to deport them. These people held their views and passed them on to their American children, setting the stage for a fascist takeover.
Some Americans supported Hitler before the war.
Henry Ford, Lindberg and Joseph Kennedy for instance.
So yes, some Nazi Germans were brought to the US after WWII because of the fear of the Communists, but "homegrown" Americans had the some political opinions before those Germans arrived.
Sadly I don't we have that good of an excuse for the behavior of Americans. Plenty of those who follow Maga were jot children of Nazis. Many were children of immigrants, and should damn well have known better. My Maga family included - my grandma literally fled here to avoid war. We're Irish.
Obviously, there are a number of routes to fascism. Tribal hatreds are pretty universal. But as a Chicagoan, I know that my city was an epicenter for Nazis in hiding. The ethnic communities from Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, and other countries took them in as countrymen and women.
I'm just saying - many children of Nazi's hate and stand against what their parents did (I read a book called I think it was Children of Hitler that talked about studies they've done on it) where as a lot of Americans with no ties glory in it. It's quite sickening.
I think that is a grossly simplistic reading of the historical record, though it is true that America's white supremacist and eugenicist policies (as well as their steamrolling Native Americans) were inspirational to Hitler.
No…we got involved because we were attacked. Until that happened we comfortably wore our blindfolds and blithely turned away lost souls. Know what we did afterwards? Shameful.
I cant assess what every single deportee did or not; but it is very clear that the optics are massively against the #illegitimate #regime since they are erasing the right to exist of just about every group that is not them. So for now we can assume that the deportations have no legal basis.

We didn't get into WW2 to stop the Nazis; we did it because we KNEW we would become the most powerful country in the World as Europe fell?
Everything makes me cry...
Damn... damn... damn!
What's wrong with some people?
Sadly his mass deportation
Is mostly innocent people it all to feed him and Fox News
We are in for very disturbing times,
Does one hide and hope it disappears or speak out.
Before we can not.
Sad
The events of 1930s Germany have been the BLUEPRINT for what is happening now.
Of course he became a dictator soon after
The first nazi targets were Trans people. The first mag/orange fascist targets ate Trans people
History IS repeating
