Last night ABC's 7:30 ran a report on Victoria's housing reform, and the youngest person they consulted was a 40-year-old homeowner. No renters. No young people. Those most affected by the housing crisis were ignored.

This issue is systemic within the media. These interviews were likely conducted during the work week, meaning the only voices they could listen to were retirees or those who could afford to take time off work.
I have no ill will toward those interviewed; they're free to have their opinions, but positioning them as authoritative figures representative of the "community" is naive and, frankly, lazy journalism from ABC.
I don’t have enough words to rebut all the points in this piece. Interesting that they interview a developer who concludes it will do nothing, with the piece just completely ignoring filtering of cheaper and lower quality apartments.
Idk why he’s become the go-to developer. He’s a greenfield guy! All he wants is for the state to release more land and not tax him as much so he can rack in the cash!
