The problem with deactivating your account is that anybody will be able to take your account name. Best reactivate it and then set your account to private, then no one can see it or take you account name.

That is a point. Apparently it will sit there for 30 days before it’s completely shut down, so if there were a way to keep it dormant I’d be interested to know. I had put it to private before deactivating.

As you've already set your account to private just reactivate it. The profile page will be visible but that's all. For example. You can also remove all your followers and posts to be really thorough.

I didn't realize that meta owned insta, threads and WhatsApp too. I'm also finding out how many times I used the option to sign in to a web page using Facebook 😀 "However will I survive‽" (Gasping, swooning, clutching my pearls) 🤣 the biggest realization is how addicted to them I was. 🤯
