I think my mother told me years ago that she thought Prague was the most beautiful city she had seen.
So far, among my favourites are Rome, Lisbon and Porto, but I have seen sooooo many.

I'm so jealous, I haven't yet made it to Portugal, and I've heard it's beautiful. I agree with your mom, I really loved Prague. I've heard Budapest is also nice.

I went there without expectations. I was mainly in one area of Lisbon. We ended up going by a square every night. On a Monday (!!!) it was packed and people were singing and dancing to a band (the singer played accordion). Amazing alleys there and Porto with inviting restaurants .... [Sigh].
