Old trees in public places need to be cut down, unfortunately. In case of strong wind or storm, they may fall on cars or people. Of course, there will be new trees to be planted to replace them.

Trees make a world of difference, both in physical cooling of the environment and feeding the spirit's need for a connection to nature. I'm grateful to have lived in Atlanta and now Minneapolis with their pervasive plantings.

There is not only the urgent migration from fossil fuels to save the Planet (and us) from the devastation of #GlobalWarming

There is also the dramatic need to plant many millions of trees and restore the growth of algae in the seas.
