Not a military coup, an illegal order given by a desperate and unpopular President. A coup of one really. If you'd seen South Korea in the 70s/80s, trust me, they know how to throw a military coup.

I don't think they're in jail for the same reasons. There's a lot of money in the RoK and where ever there is wealth there is greed. They do have also a kind of paranoia, probably justifiably, about infiltration.I think he's probably had a mental breakdown with bouts of acute paranoia.

Trump will be lucky not to be despised by the mid terms, can't see Joint Chiefs of Staff obeying ' martial law ' orders from Trump, not after Jan 6th. They'd probably show up with holstered weapons and quietly show him the door by then.
