The mid size town I grew up in was particularly plagued by sexual abuse perpetrated by priests. I know of numerous folks that suffered through it. Shockingly, it eventually came out the Church used the locale as a repository for priests accused of sex abuse. They didn’t let anyone know of course.
At 88 years old I fear we have only a few years left of Pope Francis as pope. And I can’t imagine a kinder, more loving and gentle Pope will succeed him.
I disagree with you. Yes, there has been abuse in the Catholic church, and sad to say in other religions as well. But I went to a Loyola school and really appreciated the Jesuits and their knowledge. I believe there are bad apples in all categories, unfortunately. No one is immune. It's good vs evil
But if you believe and teach the existence of super beings and deny natural physics you start at a disadvantage. It's a terrible thing to do to young impressionable children.
You aren't familiar with Jesuits I take it. Anyway, I believe in faith, hope and prayer and the Ten Commandments as a measure to fall back as life challenges you. I also like the Mass. To each his own. Separation of government and church.
