Instagram, which is owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta announced the new app just hours after TikTok shut off its service in the US following the implementation of a new national security law.

Tik Tok was never meant to be under greedy corporate control. I was a dancing app which became social gathering place where we learned, laughed, supported, stood in solidarity with each other. It was for The People. Not this!
Mark Zuckerberg launching a video editing app on ‘TikTok Ban Day’ is like showing up to the party with stale chips after everyone’s already gone home. We see you, Zuck, trying to turn bans into your big break—desperate is so Meta.
Hey Zuck, keep it, we aren't buying what you're selling. And in keeping with societal rage you can shove it up your ass. It should keep your head company.
TIKTOK is teaching a Master Class in FAFO:
They are publically reminding everyone that the fate of the platform is 100% Trump.
This is NOT bootlicking -- it is a very polite threat.
With Zuck and Musk trying hard to ban or buy it, Tiktok is letting their 170,000,000 users ask Trump who owns him now.
Once Trump is in office, they can't blame Biden. Tiktok turned off service to illustrate exactly how many people will be pissed if they go dark for good.
To me, it looks like they are forcing Trump's hand.
It would help certainly if #zuck #mosseri get their act in gear as I have been unable to follow back my followers for months now. Now @bsky.app is whooping their ass. Today after they think #TikTok went dark I’m getting Recipe’s galore. Zuckerberg also suspended my account as I mentioned NETANYAHU.

THE REASON WHY BOTH RED & BLUE ARE BIPARTISAN ABOUT THIS:
TikTok & Rednote's only mission is to keep Americans dumb and occupied.
You're still not suitable for bedtime activities. Stop trying so hard 😒
Sincerely,
Everyone

Maybe shut off all platforms on every Sunday. Of course, that is not possible by government directive. But we can personally make this choice!
