@bloomberg.com very interesting article.What is missing imo is the rise of Hindu Nationalism when the 1991 fiscal crisis hit and the aftermath such as the Gujarat violence which Modi presided over.That legacy lives on today.
The shift from a Socialist to a Neoliberal economy was facilitated by the rise of the Hindu Right. Now, if that is threatened, curious to hear what the authors think Modi will have to contend with politically given the farmer suicides and protests when measures to open the market were introduced.
