You can say anything is well written by adding a layer to it that’s not there. The show absolutely does treat Stolas as a perfect being and the mercs let some douche get away with cheating because he’s happy and gay and that makes it ok.
Yeah I don’t have to have empathy for fictional characters to analyze them. Especially when they are Wagner Group-style mercenary terror killer bombers, who have not much empathy either.
Lmao, no the show absolutely does not treat Stolas as perfectly.
IMP let that family go because the lady that hired them was very obviously an abusive woman who wanted to see the husband who rightfully left her punished
I mean, I think he was right to cheat on Stella not because he's gay but because she's abusive. I think it's fine to cheat on domestic abusers. That's a good message, I think. And no, the show still goes out of its way to show that Stolas isn't perfect, like with Octavia and his tendency to withdraw
What? Cheating is in no way as severe as rape. It's having sex with another person other than your partner without their consent. They were in an arranged marriage and never loved each other. Stella wasn't even mad that he cheated, it's that Stolas cheated on her with an imp.
into his own problems at the expense of seeing how other people are feeling. He's often really fucking oblivious, and part of that is related to his unconscious classism, like during his speech in the Harvest Moon Festival.
Right to feel what way? Are you talking about the fight they had in Full Moon? Stolas had already learned that their deal wasn't the big romantic delusional version of their relationship he had in his mind and was actively trying to end it in a way where Blitzo wasn't dependent on being with him.
Like, that's just character growth. Blitzo was still right to not believe him, Stolas sprung this on him seemingly out of nowhere and it seemingly contradicted what their deal was based on, sexual services for the grimoire. They were both right to feel how they did.
The only time where he's even acting somewhat stuck up in any of these scenarios is in the fourth one and it's played as a light joke. Also, the fuck is with that second example? "Stolas attempted to sacrifice his life for Blitzo so Blitzo won't be executed. What a selfish dick bag!"
Also, while Blitzo's initial disbelief in Stolas's love confession was perfectly understandable given how most of their deal has unfolded up to this point, he did make fun of the very idea to his face. Is Stolas not allowed to be upset over that?
Also, I'm just drawing a blank on that first example. Getting upset that Blitzo never told him about Striker? How is that narcissistic in the slightest?
My pfp is Akatosh. One of the Nine Divines, Dragon God of Time. Kinda important to the plot of Oblivion and the founding of the Third Empire. But as a mod creator? I guess I've made individual mods but I've never actually shared them yet. You might be thinking of someone else.

Which is what you're lacking right now when it comes to character analysis
IMP let that family go because the lady that hired them was very obviously an abusive woman who wanted to see the husband who rightfully left her punished
Lol no by violating someone’s consent that way that’s literally 1 step away from rape which is also violating consent.
