My parents were born just in time to see the worst of diseases like smallpox, measles, and polio. When the government held mass vaccination drives some time in their childhood, it was a miracle of life to them.

At the time, some vaccines were administered not by syringe but by microneedle patches into the forearm. They hold these coin-sized scars with gratitude.

I can't imagine rejecting vaccines based on superstitions and rumours - things that regularly haunt my country as it is.

There are those who will cast doubt on every single "modern pharma" thing anyway, but for most people it's hard to deny the proof before their eyes. In a way, I think our generation will be much more gullible to antivax narratives. Reading history is less convincing than seeing the disease itself.
