I am here both the lewd and politics. Thinking of it now; sex, the application of force (those who wield it), and delegation of who is allowed to have such items are building blocks to politics. (Or at least screwed up politics.)

They're never forced to engage, anyone always has the ability to stop looking at social media when they need a break. Feeling the need to declare "I'm here for porn, not politics," is either a lack of self reflection and self care, or someone passive aggressively telling the artist to shut up

the relevant thing I've seen people say on the subject is "could you please consider usinf trump's name when you're talking about him, instead of euphemisms? i use a keyword blocker when i need to get away for a hot minute, but it doesn't work on euphemisms."

If I were to post on my own feed "I'm exhausted from politics, gonna take a break." That's addressing the same concern, to an audience of people who choose to follow you, it isn't telling anyone else what to do, or making any implications that porn artists shouldn't be political.

If social media is your place to relax and chill, that *has* to be on you to curate your space. You cannot expect anyone on social media you might want to follow to silence themselves so you can conveniently relax. Build a feed of art only. Block keywords. Have a second account just to chill.

There are plenty of politics free spaces to spend your time if you need a break, and there are unfollow and block buttons and ban lists and keyword blockers etc. etc. There is no reason that someone else should have to police themselves for you on their own social media.

I don't know how much I would actually use a political filter. I'm personally pretty okay with how much political content I'm seeing but I'm a big defender of people's right to want a way to escape from that because I know what it's like to be sucked into it.

Well, they could use the Moderation tools of the platform and just filter these posts with the word filter.
Also, it would be nice to have "situational" filters, where you can have like "modes" (which can be worked around by creating different profiles now we don't need invites anymore though)...

Yeah it's why I got two accounts. If a person shares like 50% or less nsfw art they go to the safer for work bluesky. if they share more than 50% nsfw it goes to the nsfw account. Just helps separate things for the breaks. Important to have both but a breath is good

The way I like to put it is that the idea that anything is truly apolitical is itself political. Even to the extent one can ignore politics, that's the result of a particular political situation.
