What are the chances they've mindlessly reported torque at the wheels rather than at the motor. My 106 makes more than 2,000lb ft. Provided you calculate it in first gear.

It's dim of the outlet to not make that clear but it's a bit cheeky of the manufacturer to report wheel figures too as they make comparison pretty meaningless, unless you know what every other vehicle on the road makes at the wheels.
There has been a proliferation of such communication, I've noticed. Since a Swedish company announced their electrifying plan and most of the press didn't read it properly and gave them free publicity on turning all EV. It was "cleverly" written and knew their audience.
Not sure if you all can bear such cheerfullness on a Monday, but perhaps this is a win win?
You serious lot get to point this out which your audience (myself included) appreciates. The influencer scene gets something to shout about. Company has more coverage.
Such things are carefully calibrated to be just so. As aside I really like the way this thing is starting to look. Whatever about the torque figure, I reckon this could be the best looking BMW in quite a long time.

I do like the exterior design direction. Great glass house and the world is ready for an Alfa 75 revival.
