To be fair, this 3/2 is currently listed at $995K - the same price it sold for in Dec 2017. (Ouch.) Before that it sold for $390K in 2002.

The love letter to home sellers stories I've heard in my personal network! Sure there's the usual "My daughter painted a picture of us living in your house" letters, but then there's the "I swear I will never ever change your house" letters, and also character testimonial letters. Amazing stuff.

I had to write a letter to the lender explaining why we were only moving a mile... from a 2bd condo to a 50% bigger 4br sfh. My letter was basically "we have two kids now." The whole process is just rife with silliness.

It's not that they have too much money - a supply constrained market, home sellers know there's usually 3-10 backup bids that are similar enough.
