With all the AI hype and the backlash-to-the-hype, I don’t see anybody talking about how *weird* this technology is. LLMs just feel bizarre to me.

It’s the uncanny valley.
These things are much too happy and enthusiastic. Like, a human would be a bit irritated at some point of you asking them to keep doing bullshit tasks.

I feel acknowledging the strange unintuitive nature of can promote empathy for people who have reached different conclusions than eachother
