I mean if that ends up the case you literally have 2 options: he plays out the season and maybe helps, and he walks. Or he plays out the season and maybe helps, and he likes it once here for more than 2 weeks and re-signs.
Either way… I don’t really care? Tulsky swung for the fences. Fans wanted a big trade for years. Tulsky did it. Did it work? Probably not. But he’s showed in his first year he’s ballsier than your last two GMs…
Yeah, if the worse case is you have Mikko Rantanen for a playoff run where your division is the walking wounded & the Atlantic is a death gauntlet I’ll take my chances.
That's the thing that gets me, especially being around for so long.
The fan base wants to win with their favorite players AND get big free agents and...you just can't do both all the time? I'm all in on ET trying to get someone like Rantanen. How many times has a player like that moved?
This fanbase has such a weird parasocial relationship with the team and get so butthurt if guys get traded (see Skinner, Jeffery), yet also get mad if they’re not competitive enough. You can’t have all your lovable players and expect to not lose any to get big names.
Unfortunately, all the players are assets that can be moved to improve the team. It's not personal. BTW, I don't think it is just the Canes. I think all the teams have fans like that.
His agent is known for being a dickhead. You take some of that on if you’re employing them and they have a known reputation. I’m by no means mad about the trade in general or losing Necas. I appreciate that ET tried something, better than the “I like our group” days.

Either way, way less drama 😂

I am quite annoyed with how it’s all gone down. It’s all been very dumb.
