This is my first imaging session with the ZWO Electronic Auto-Focuser (EAF) and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Previous imaging sessions resulted in blurry images after the meridian flip, and that caused some of the finer details to bloom. With the EAF I was able yield a crisper image.

This is a narrowband, false-color image. I live in a heavily light-polluted area (Bortle 7) so I have chosen narrowband imaging, which largely filters out light pollution and narrows down to three specific wavelengths of light associated with gaseous Sulfur (SII), Hydrogen (Hα), and Oxygen (OIII).

In the Hubble color palette, the three wavelengths of light are assigned a color with SII ranging from red to OIII represented here in blue. The Hubble palette is named after the Hubble telescope, which images in the same way.

In the middle of the Pac-Man nebula too, there is a brilliant system of five stars - HD 5005. The brightest of them, HD 5005a, is of spectral type O4.5, one of the hottest and youngest stars we know.
