Can be read as love epiphany moments for them. I think the most interesting turning point is Soul, after spending all his time with Maka up to that point seemingly dodging her 'flirting' (like how he always pushes everyone away in general) ended up being the one initiating things--

--I read his confrontation with the Envy!Wes as him finally having to face the fact he needed to finally hold his relationship with Maka closer and stop being such a hedgehog, and hence he was the one offerring to hold her hand later

I think the fact that after Salvage he finally stopped teasing Maka for her appearance is also a reflection of this beside him becoming more mature. And of course, no one can't convince me otherwise that Soul was intentionally flirting during that final scene and finally the one to make 'a move'--

-for once on Maka since he's finally felt more confident in himself and his relationships (and hence no one can't convince me otherwise the end of the manga is where their relationship is finally going to evolve with Soul being more active and receptive in their usual banter-flirt)
