Ida Wells was born enslaved but refused to live in fear. She wielded the power of the press to expose America’s greatest terror—lynching. When the truth made her a target, she didn’t back down. She co-founded the NAACP, fought for Black women’s voting rights, and left a legacy of resistance!

It would seem to me every culture is discriminatory in some way aren't they?.

In the early morning of March 28, 1941, the body of Private Felix Hall was found. The 19-year-old Black man from Alabama was lynched on the segregated military base of Fort Benning, Georgia. His was the only known murder of its kind on a U.S. military base.
Ida B. Wells is known for leading the anti-lynching movement from the late 1800s through the early 1900s, despite facing numerous challenges and threats to her safety. As one of the founders of the NAACP, Wells became one of the most famous Black women in America.
Every "Karen" dreams of being this evil.
cw: disturbing and graphic descriptions of the "savage" murders by lynching
Wielded the press, let the truth be told.
"Handouts come at a cost."
"Them folks ain't for us."
I didn’t understand it then. But I listened.
The Red Record should be required reading!
🔹 Receipts: Stats & firsthand accounts of lynchings.
🔹 Exposed the Lies: Showed lynching wasn’t about “protection” but terror.
🔹 Called for Action: Pushed for outrage, policy, & justice.
Wells wasn’t just reporting—she was fighting.
It was hard to read…it broke me at times. 😢
But it was necessary.
It was my duty as a human to read, acknowledge, and learn about it all. The inhumanity. The cruelty. 💔
I admire her strength and dedication immensely!
She was an absolutely amazing woman!!! ✊🏼
Ida Wells would horsewhip them.
“Well, I won't back down
No I won't back down
You could stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I won't back down
No I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down”
Keep 🥊

I'm impressed and educated.
I am a better person for it.
Who in their right mind would cancel, hide or burn such a book of resilience and strength.
Reading, writing, math and this book.
