I had to beg and plead to get any kind of IV pain medication or sedation for an endometrial biopsy but people are getting general anesthesia for full body tattoos.

Supposedly the anesthesiologist administering the anesthesia. Though I have serious doubts about the type of person that would pursue this particular avenue for their career.
Thank you Dr. Valdez. The biopsy was several years ago but I have since had other invasive GYN tests that were physically and emotionally traumatizing because of the pervasive belief that the pain is minimal.
Resist/refuse! Throw your weight around! Thrash the office! Become the horror patient of all OB-Gyns - do whatcha gotta do, but for the love of every uterus on the planet - screech and DEMAND anesthesia 😈
Jesus Christ. I used to do conscious sedation for these procedures. This is a painful procedure and people undergoing this procedure should not have to fucking grin and bear it.
Absolutely. If you are in an outpatient suite, it is not a MINOR procedure. I had an endometrial ablation years ago and the GYN told me it was an "in office" procedure. I nodded, walked out, and found a GYN who recognized that adequate sedation and pain control was actually...required.
Had a biopsy done during colposcopy when I was in my 20’s. I nearly passed out and Ileft there in tears. The (male) dr said prior “you may feel a tiny pinch”. I should’ve kicked him in the nuts after saying, “you may feel a tiny nudge”
