Yes, thank you. Multiple times the past week, people have reached out asking if it's going to be as bad as so and so on youtube said. I've had to tell people "yes, it will get colder - but no, it's not unusual". This happens almost every winter.

One thing I've observed in the NWP model discourse the last couple of weeks is how poorly cold weather is communicated in the extended range.
Difference b/w "ordinary" cold that occurs once or twice a typical winter season vs "historic" cold like that seen in January 1985.
