I have listened to two different scientists talking about how milk causes cancer, both had two different answers looking at the same information
Why or How something happens is not always easy to work out
Science can be messy and it is easy for people to buckle down on “nah, you crazy”
What I hate about the “how can anyone know anything” attitude is that it excuses us from actually doing our own research
Scientifically
Reading studies
Looking at information from an unbiased perspective
And deciding what action to take for themselves & how those actions affect others
Truth is - it’s really difficult to do that
It takes time, effort, & the ability to look at your own biases
The “how can we know anything” attitude isn’t evidence of propaganda
It’s a human response to someone telling them to change
What I despise about the disinformation/misinformation game is that it takes a very human response and uses it to encourage people to hurt others
Misinformation is human
Disinformation is propaganda
And figuring out which is which takes time
I only know one way to manage that issue
Comments
As if Information Age itself was just another hoax🙄
