I don’t benefit from the dental program or $10/day daycare

I don’t need the Canada Child Benefit & I already have coverage for diabetes medicine should I need it

I vote in favour of these things because it’s not just about me

Transactionality and quid pro quo is the basis of the wealthy. I saw this as a kid. They train themselves to look out for #1, forgetting that to be #1, you need to stand on the shoulders of others.

I would argue that we do benefit from the programs we don’t use. Regular dental care reduces use of emergency hospital care. Daycare (and schools) make for better socialized and educated kids who become productive adults. And so on. But we know Cons don’t see big picture due to empathy deficit

Agreed! I don’t have children. I live alone. I make good money. I have a pension, great benefits. I own my house. Happy to support those who benefit from programs that help society. Children are in daycare, children are being fed, families are getting support. We need to do a little more for PWDs

Had a convo with guy bitching re paying education tax as his kids are adults. My rely: do u have doctor, mechanic, dentist, hair dresser, insurance agent etc. Most of these people were educated in the publicly funded education system & that is how you benefit from your education taxes every day.

Thanks for noticing. I vote to increase spending on education even though my children are grown. I vote in the vain hope that we will have the option for a national heathcare system available to all so that no one goes bankrupt from medical bills. Half of us vote for the sake and safety of others.
