What if instead of an administration of podcasters we had an administration of those guys who explain how to, like, install drywall or use different hand tools in 4-hour YouTube videos

I think this can actually be generalized somewhat to include many instances of “forums” and other single-purpose communities/sites. Rare these days for sure.
