it’s not about threats to data privacy or whatever. it’s threats to US imperialism. they can control the flow of information in those other apps. they can’t control it in TikTok. Luigi memes get suppressed on US social media platforms. not so on others

It`s not about the data, it`s about how CCP can control the algorithms. We already know that there exists "super promote" flags in the algos where Bytedance can basically put certain accounts into just about everybodies feed. They are also not exactly transparent about them either.

I think it's because social media is designed to promote things that are popular and the main metric for that is likes and or views and comments.

Most people will share important news even if they hate it, or will leave negative comments that will boost the very thing they dislike. 1/3

Absolutely. Though with the behavior of some Democrats since the election I can't help but feel some are just fine going along with the fascist agenda if they can get something out of it.
