Oh yeah. Got one kid who’s written a load of cool stuff in Scratch. He’s 9. Going to try and move him onto Python. He’s one of the few where it’s clicked. Even knew hex, binary and octal.
Yeah. My best friend at secondary school got a ZX81. I got hooked and ended up spending a lot of time coding, culminating in a portfolio of a full game (never released) and a load of demos on the Spectrum that got my foot in the door at Software Creations.
Ah brilliant.
I eventually got a ZX Spectrum 48K and played a load of games before I too started to code, I was about 17. I’ve never looked back apart from recently where my passion for IT dropped so much due my health . Now, I am slowly getting back into the fun side.
