where does one start. morale is even at the moment. not too high, not too low. I feel a sense of burnout because ive been burned by companies too frequently over the last two years. and now the market is kind of terrible, so even with experience it's tough to land somewhere right now... chin up! 😅

these last couple of months have really opened my eyes to see how little I need to survive and be happy. its changed my relationship for the better in so many ways to so many things, places and people. not everyone has the privilege of holding out for the perfect thing, but im 🙏 this comes around...

It's challenging at the moment in every industry vertical. There's clearly a re-alignment underway but toughing it out means you'll be in a great position when things settle down. I'm seeing high demand for senior positions, low for junior and low for director and above levels. Stay positive.

Salaries are down at least 33% YOY. Clients won’t commit. New clients can’t differentiate between SOWs. POCs are constantly in flux. Budgets are 20% proper rates, no one can hire amazing talent because clients won’t commit. Kind of a vicious circle.

Additionally dev is never coming back. Most juniors will never be able to learn from a proper team. Mid and Seniors who are laid off will be required to settle heavily for their next gig.
