I lost my interests (never know I have one) in engaging with bigger crowds. I'm low with energy right now to be bothered. Mostly block new people except few known accounts. Your statement is helping our community. TY bud! 👍🤛
I don't begrudge them their impressive followings, but in some cases they'd just "fire and forget" posts on Xitter. Intentional or not, it smacked of condescension. Would like to see actual productive conversations now that we're facing an "all hands on deck" period of history.
Maybe if we all paid more attention to the quality of the account rather than the # of followers they have we will be a lot better off. There were far too many people who got a fat head over on Twitter because of their # of followers. Most of them disappointed me, and I will not follow them here.
Very well said. At one point I asked myself why accounts with a bajillion followers weren't making concrete efforts to organize a *real* resistance outside of social media. Then it occurred to me: it was never the goal to actualize the messaging. So now I care 0% about follower stats.
Bingo. I saw one of them over here who immediately started posting Trump Truth Social posts. I asked her are you going to be posting Trump stuff here too? She slapped back "you are not the boss of me and I'll do whatever I want". No problem. Block!
I’m taking the approach to give them the benefit of the doubt. I’ll follow for now, but can drop that in a hurry. I only spend time on my follow list, so the rest of the site can do what they want. There are enough good folks (many in this thread) here already for me.
Totally fair. In some cases it's not even the account that's the problem but the groupthink of its followers. On Xitter I remember cases where I'd agree with 9/10 bullet points of a "big account"'s post but offered a different perspective on the 1/10, only to get blasted and called a closet MAGA. 🙄
