Thank goodness the right-wing capture of Univision is getting some attention. Thank you @gregsargent.bsky.social

The small city of Reading in central Pennsylvania is around 70 percent Latino.

In 2024, it shifted toward Trump by a staggering net 16 points.

It’s hard to understand why people from Dominican Republic voted for Trump. ICE constantly carry immigration raids in Puerto Rico targeting those from Dominican Republic. USCBP and the Coast Guard are constantly stopping those botes with immigrants coming from the Dominican Republic too.

Also, Republican outreach to Latinos is vastly underestimated. My state senate district in Iowa is lean-Republican. I heard many many political ads on Spanish language radio for the republican candidate to state senate. They were all in Spanish and professionally done. Didn't hear a single Dem one.

On reflection I can see it almost made sense to take this whole constituency for granted, since it the other side is/was so obviously full of bigots and exploiters who want to hurt them
