Thats great but the post was “wrong, it was republicans” when it demonstrably was not. It was passed when democrats had a majority in the senate. Plenty of democrats voted for it and Biden signed it, democrats had more than one chance to kill this bill.

The Dems never had a majority in the Senate, they caucused w/ 2 independents. Also, wasn’t this bill passed when the House was led by Republicans?

In any event, I hate these arguments - this accident was clearly caused by some level of pilot negligence, not this bill.

This bill *was* negligence, it took a bad situation and made it worse for no good reason. The two independents you mention being sanders and king are democrats for all intents and purposes - both voted yes regardless.

I never said any of that in the first place. It doesn’t matter to me WHO introduced the bill. People are giving in to airline lobbyists and now people are dying. We have multiple ground “close calls” every day and this will escalate until we have a huge crash. I had a close call at DFW last yr.

Seems it became this eventually - sponsored by a republican funnily enough, seems bipartisanship still exists as long as it’s for the convenience of the politicians. Passed the senate 88-4
