Thomas - born 1905, orphaned 1914, shipped to Canada 1916 where he wrote a letter to a English friend. It wasn't addressed so they filed it away. In 2006, I discovered that his "Home Children Orphan" file still existed. When we got the file, it contained including the 88 year old penciled letter!

Researching #10ScotlandStreet I discovered that my grandmother's great-grandmother was also the great grandmother of the wife of the cousin of the man who rented my house from the Wytts in 1900. 😆

My "Deadwood 3rd-great-grandfather," who worked as a barber there & ran in the same circles as Seth Bullock & other Deadwood legends. His tragic 1885 death made headlines in several states. It was a huge shock to find him...fingers crossed for a 2025 #Genealogy road trip to research more in person!
