A3: I think so much about the disconnect so many teens feel from reading books and print-based #literacies in general, not seeing those material tools as useful for the literacy activity-practice they want to engage in.
A3: My conceptions of #literacies lead me to notice acts of resistance and agency in classrooms. I see how students and teachers co-construct knowledge through student-centered dialogue and covertly challenging prescriptive curricula.
A3: As a HS ELA teacher & an instructor w/in an undergrad ELA methods course, I see my students learn & better understand the world around them when they are writing. From my HS freshmen all the way to my juniors in college, I see their worlds opening up with they take the time to write. #literacies
A3: My current queer #literacies work is challenging me to reconsider normative notions of time. How can we 'read' the past, present, and future through queer lenses, especially in conjunction with LGBTQ+ literature?
A3: interesting. I’m working on connecting back to body/bodies, sound, time, and non-linear configurations of performance* and production* in classrooms
