One of the most annoying things for me when debugging a problem is when something doesn't work, I don't know why, and I can't figure out what's wrong.
That eats at me so much, that figuring out exactly what is happening is an amazing relief (even though at that point, nothing is actually fixed yet)

Until that happens there is almost like a background thread running trying to figure things out.
But I feel the same.
Often pays off later when you connect some unrelated issue, or solve a root cause and move things forward.
