I worked for dwp and we would frequently get MP letters asking why we wasn't paying somebody? Answer- because the law said we couldn't. The one you personally voted for!

I've a rough idea which group of MPs this is, and some of them couldn't pour piss out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel. The others are looking to farm up some rage. This is basically Tommy Robinson-Yaxley-Lennon under parliamentary privilege.

I would say a pound to a penny that most MPs don't even read any legislation they vote on. My money would be they vote almost entirely based on what some whip has told them to, and are given a menu of talking points at most.
