In the heart of Poltava, on the grounds of the Poltava State Agrarian Academy, stands an unusual monument—a life-size pig.
Originally, the idea was to have angels lifting the pig onto a pedestal, but the clergy objected. Instead, the pig was flanked by a boy and girl in national costumes.
