not a member but some ways it could be unsafe:
- no legal advice/contacts to help if event runs afoul of police
- no exp/plan to deal w possible counterprotesters
- could be trap/planned to get people in trouble
- may pick a bad location (eg cornered, low vis)
- unclear what/who you're supporting
