A basic google search and like 5 mins of reading shows this dude made that money in an exploitative manner and that he used his charity to buy out his stocks as a pay out. Giving it all away before crossing the finish line doesnβt come close to atonement
So very true
Look at Warren Buffett
And he isnβt the only one - I do feel that while some are the devil incarnate (Musk), others the likes of Ken Griffin are giving a lot; he for example gave 400 million alone to Sloan Kettering & that is just 1 of the many causes he supports. Not all are bad
An inspiration to all. I doubt we'll see many follow his lead. The accumulation of wealth beyond any practical purpose is an addiction more powerful than drugs or alcohol, but we should still celebrate those who do the right thing, rare as they are.
Well done Mr Feeney , if you were π¬π§ you would be Sir Chuck Feeney βοΈπ
To some of the others Elmo, you can only eat one dinner and others will continue to waist your immense wealth after you are dead.
We don't just need somebody we need everybody non-compliance isn't something that works for any group it works for populations everything the bosses touch has to freeze up every edict they announce has to immediately be violated or simply ignored. Bigger than a labor strike
It's the shunning of the tyrant and every person aligned with them. To do that you've got to love everyone on our side which is nearly everyone people you wouldn't want to know outside of this crisis. But to create peace for everyone and a chance for us all to thrive. Tolerance must be practiced.
Billionaires shouldnβt exist. For the every Chuck Feeney there is an Elon Musk and a Mark Zuckerberg. They should all be taxed at 90% above 10 million dollars.
We could take 99% of Muskβs wealth, spend $40 billion on education every year for the next 10 years. Alternatively, we could give every child born in the next year $100,000 to invest toward education. That money would be worth $600,000 in 18 years. Every child.
Just think how much better the world could be if we confiscated 99% of Muskβs wealth and used it to help people. Musk would still be worth $4 Billion.

His philanthropy can only be labeled as amazing.
Just think of the value he created.
I've noticed all the talk about skilled immigrants, but no one talks about scholarships for STEM students in our country

I don't believe it's possible to amass that kind of wealth without damaging millions of lives and destroying thousands.
Must have calculated that he had some serious penance due.
Musk would still be worth $4 billion.
Thank you!
