Worst example I saw was of a woman in Fairfax County (richest county in Virginia) who wanted Toni Morrison's "The Bluest Eye" removed because she did not want her children learning about slavery.
Atheists in general have a higher sense of morality than religious people bc:
- we don't lie about "god"
- we don't expect our errors to be forgiven by a "higher power"
- we've read the bible with an open mind, and recognize that it's mostly ancient garbled gibberish with a few worthwhile passages

It was never about love and acceptance. These religions are about subjugation, full stop. We need to quit acting like these people ever gave a shit about others or an actual god.
