New markets will emerge, when old ones closes down. This is how capitalism and the free world works. This is why Trump will fail miserable, and all his billionaire friends now this, but they cannot do anything about it. But the rest of us can and we will 😉

It depends what his goals are.

I've seen it speculated that he, and those around him, want to kind of make America a bit like Mexico and China. Cheap, poorly paid labour for billionaires to make a killing. With automation and AI on the horizon, many semi-skilled jobs will diminish.

I'm not sure if he has a goal, other than being greater than George Washington, which is crazy. A great America comes from a big and productive middle class, like in the 70' and 60'. His ideas simply doesn't work in a global economy in 2025.

He does seem to have shifted to "legacy mode" doesn't he. Or at least that's what he's projecting. He seems to want to be seen as Donald the Great.

Even now, many if not most of the Dems seem to think they can win and rule as they did before. They're just as delusional as Trump.

Like you say - it's the middle class, and a working class that feels financially secure - that made the USA. But since the 80s, that has died. Even amongst the Dems, only a select few "gets it". Most Dems have a credibility problem - they're mostly neocons.
