My opinion of The Thing originally was it was a 7, but a smart 7. Like, sure it’s not a perfect game, but it has so many smart and fresh ideas that even now in the remaster I said to myself, “Why hasn’t any game had a gameplay system like this in 20 years?”

Wow this was a more than generous review. Then again, you right about Nightdive going beyond the call of duty to at least improve upon a broken as Hell system in this remaster, so props to them for continuing their streak of "love of the game"

I remember scripted mutations in original my allies guns and 4 mags of ammo would disappear! I got so save scummy I knew what doors would cause this so I would remove their guns and ammo. throw a fire grenade behind me and walk through the door to meta-kill them when they turn!

Great review.
The Thing video game's biggest crime was its boxart replaced the original The Thing artwork on the dvd cases at the time. So, out with the unknowable figure with a headlight for a face, in with the generic man with a gun in the snow.
