i'm also angry that my highschool and most school systems that i know of dont even offer chinese as a language class!! like wtf

and yet, he's still nice and accommodating to me even though i dont deserve it. he should absolutely be angry and frustrated with me and yet he always shows me kindness

the mere FACT that being shown boundless grace and acceptance is such a culture shock to me is abhorrent. the u.s. is so hellbent on tearing people apart for being different that basic kindness is rare and seen as weak.

Hey it'll be ok, there's still good people here even if the media here tries to portray it as otherwise. And what do you mean you're undeserving? Not your fault it's not easy to get Mandarin lessons here and the information you had about things were purposely made inaccurate.

I don't blame your generation for feeling that way... Growing up in America seems tough and being a Gen Z in the US seems extra tough, like life or death kinda tough. I can't imagine that sort of existential crisis, I was fortunate enough to be raised outside of the US
