Just a friendly reminder: if you chose to set a boundary, decline an invitation, or skip a tradition today, you don’t have to feel bad about it one bit. Take care of you first. Always.

I did not go to my daughters today, was a very hard decision not to be with my family, my grandchildren especially, my birthday was last Thursday and I have asked my daughter at least 2 dozen times not talk about politics, she made it 10 mins before she started. I decided then that I would not go.
My holidays consist of staying home and enjoying my own company. I prefer getting together with others on non-holidays because there is no obligation. We do it because we want to. Best decision I made a decade ago.
As we say in my family, 'tradition is peer pressure from dead people'. You are under no obligation to do anything with anyone today (or any day) simply because LMNOP has always been done that way. If you don't do blah blah thing, blah blah way, with blah blah people - so what?
Happy Thanksgiving.

You cannot share with others happiness, when you cannot feel yourself.

I’m in no mood to deal with people who voted for the destruction of the Democratic Republic, knowingly or not.
Happy Thanksgiving.
