It is one week since the Government announced proposals to cut social security for Disabled people. We continue to stand in solidarity with all who are affected, and are moved by protests/actions that took place over the weekend (1/5).

We are waiting for the Government's Spring Budget (announced tomorrow) before we finalise and release our full analysis of the reforms. The Budget will allow us to contextualise the reforms within the wider economic choices being made (2/5).
Since last week, we have co-written to the Chancellor opposing the cuts, are meeting regularly with other charities/Disabled People's Organisations, and are looking to fund grassroots work to oppose the cuts (3/5).
And remember, these changes are not currently in effect. A period of consultation and the implementation of new laws will need to take place before your benefits can be affected (4/5).
We will be publishing our response to the consultation, and supporting members to create theirs and fight back against the reforms.
In the meantime, @dis-ppl-protest.bsky.social have released lists of local actions taking place tomorrow, 26 March, on the National Day of Action, and beyond (5/5).
