Both parties is equally guilty. Dems close their ears and eyes too. Totally ignore what they don’t find appealing, instead of finding out what it is people want to tell them. Rude as f. But I guess it’s the upbringing that’s failed in the previous generations in the US. It’s sad.
No, our most renewable resource is labor, which is why no matter how much the bourgeoisie fucks things up all we have to do to be able to fix it is get them out of the way first.
Capitalism is the ideology we have all agreed upon and to that extent we destroy the earth. Humans aren’t the cancer on the planet that people understand them to be.. it’s the inescapable ideology that is threatening us.
Active denial implies psychological ability to accept. I worry that some of the predicaments we are in, especially in regards to climate, are like "Hyperobjects" and it's the rare individual who has a place in their psyche for these realities to stick.
I agree, but why aren't we talking more about nuclear energy? Yes, it's not renewable, but it has many redeeming qualities. It's efficient at producing high amounts of power, is clean energy, and creates many jobs, better than most oil companies can do. It's not perfect but a good start at least.
It's idiotic. There will be SMR all over soon (they won't work) we'll pay to bail out the decrepit monsters that took OUTRAGEOUS amounts of carbon based energy to build & never bred more fuel than they used. Base load among sacrifice zone will profit tech boi oilgarchs; as fracking kills our kids.
-False, SMRs produce far less co2 emissions than construction efforts for solar and wind.
-Fast Breeder Reactors produce less energy than they consume, not SMRs.
-Environmental assessments are made in advance for placement.
-Safety concerns have been tested already and approved.
But none of that confronts ANY of my points. READ! We cannot even afford to dismantle 13 & have 93 money-pits slowing critical transition. The rest is well known K Street BS. Even through 2020, transition was going well. Biden was installed to maintain a FAILING status quo wars to save FRACKING, etc
Ukraine, Japan, Germany & now France (same insoluble issues!) Simply mouthing 1970s industry BS doesn't boil water? There's no time to try to replace Russian sub reactors with tech boi Oligarch boondoggles.
In addition, what is your solution to the problem. Assuming your point wasn't addressed, which I was responding to the claim that it would take more carbon to build than the reactors would make, what is your solution? Protest? Addressing Congress? Or are we simply doomed no matter what?
My point was that nuclear energy is the best option. If the issues you have a problem with are politics and bureaucratic red tape then we are in agreement. You said and I quote, "OUTRAGEOUS amounts of carbon based energy to build & never bred more fuel than they used."
Nuclear energy is the safest, cleanest and more sustainable kind of industry invented by mankind.
This denial of facts is the greatest crime against humanity. It's been 50 years this crime goes on: tens of millions of deaths made.
The interests of datacenters in SMR is a really good thing. This will improve the development of SMRs, will give the opportunity for a mass production, and will produce clean energy for this next "industrial revolution". Instead of new coal or gas.
YUP. They deny evolution, that HIV causes AIDS, man-made climate change, lead poisoning, human rights, and literally anything else which questions their authority.
Thorium reactors. You might end up really angry at the military industrial complex once you realize... thorium would t need to be enriched. It can't be used for weapons.. we could've ended uranium enrichment in the 60s

There's truth to that. I sometimes wish I never discovered things that have concerned me constantly.
It doesn't mean they don't exist, but at least I wouldn't have as much anxiety

It also happens to be our environmental policy.😅🥵
It's getting hot in here.
Denial is good but not most powerful.
The voting public keeps us from getting to the most powerful...
We need a new public.

You highlighted a problem, now propose a solution. Talking about an issue is half the battle, where's the solution?
