Here's my understanding as someone who just reads Reddit stoned: the movie is based on a romance novel where DV is not the focus. Bravery and hope are. (Gag me. I'm a survivor myself) So Blake was contractually obligated to downplay the DV and then these ass hats spun it to make her look bad.
