Great pivot but you’re NOT being whiny. Surviving on disability is not easy for anyone. Venting is crucial when overwhelmed. I, too, have found alt text to be a new coping tool to let off steam—sorry, steam is a bad choice of words here but you WILL have a working furnace again!

(Why did I say "living in Portugal"? I suppose because I associate it with that age... 7-10, Portugal. 4-7, Spain & other parts of Europe. Strange, it's the first thing that comes to mind when I think of those ages - where I WAS.)

It is kind of amazing, one day at a time. One other thing is that I had the same sponsor all that time until he passed last November.
It was great to see your sober date, as I thought. "This person I know something about that I can relate to."
My wife and I live in a nice house with wood heat.
