So 5e spells don't have much of a spell description. Occasionally a single line or so at the beginning of the spell.
Would people want to see a more descriptive spell description? Or would that make things too wordy?

Imo, spells should be largely up to the player to decide appearance and behavior. The effect should be more concrete—just tell me *exactly* what the spell does; I'll do the flavor work.
Yeah seems people prefer the streamlined approach. But I am tempted to add some quotes from a wizard to what they think of some spells etc.
Absolutely add some flavor! I love seeing a character remark on the spell in source books. I wish I could be a good artist for the visual people, but that's not my skillset.
A fun one is also asking Warlocks what their Eldritch Blast Looks like, because that also flavours their patron a bit too.
I typically don't ask one of my players because she has aphantasia and can't picture images in her head. So it might be useful for those kind of people who want the flavor and vibe but can't articulate/imagine it.
I like the idea of imaginative descriptions.
I also like letting everyone create their own imaginative descriptions and adding them might cause some people to think that's the 'correct' description that must be used.
This may be me being cynical and nothing more.
Tasha‘s did the same exact thing for the 2014 version of 5e.
The flexibility was really my favorite thing, especially with reskinning powers for hybrids to fit a concept like a were-deer ranger.
