I'm certain I've read this somewhere before but the video had me thinking of a D&D setting where sorcery is a sign of noble blood, but the printing press meant that wizards were a rising parallel equivalent to the socio-political rise of wealthy yeomen merchants and craftsmen.

I'm glad you mentioned the idea of having a sort of modern "knight tank squadrons" because my fantasy world does actually have that. The Automorin Empire (until about the 1940s) is a capitalist society with a lot of old feudal systems still around.

Their military has a whole branch called the "Morineer corps" that is basically just a bunch of wealthy aristocracy playing around with all the best war toys, usually including aircraft, armored cars, and the like to do hit and run tactics before the rest of the army shows up.

Definitely reminds me of the pistol armed knights of the 17th century.

They would ride around and shoot their pistols, and achieving little lol
